I’m thinking of starting game reviews again.

Tuesday, February 25th, 2014

Yes, this was my “Announcement”, but why? I hear you ask, well, recently, as I’ve been writing my retro diary and my retro pick-ups articles, I’ve been thinking to myself, “Who cares about these?”, but then I remembered gaming channels such as the all gen gamers channels, they all do game pick-up videos, who cares about them? Then I realised something, people care about them because they make game reviews, they make entertaining videos, videos people enjoy.

Me? I just document what I’ve played, and I have a fairly boring life, especially nowadays where I have college work taking up most of my time…

I know I’ve always said that, that was not what this blog was for, but was for my future self to look back on, and I still believe that to an extent, but recently, I just feel like I’ve been wasting my time, and I hardly feel motivated to write these anymore, when nobody is reading them, I was thinking maybe writing game reviews, get a tiny fanbase, who might read the articles I post, maybe I’ll feel motivated to write more, this way, when my future self, from like 10 or 20 years on looks back, he/I’d have a lot more nostalgic moments to read!

Why game reviews? Well, I’ve done some in the past, heck, I used to write retro game reviews for RadioSEGA in the past, I never got paid, it was more for fun, and it would look good when presenting myself if I ever decided to get a job as a reviewer (Which I doubt I will, seeing as I’m studying Games Technology (developing for consoles)). I also wrote some reviews for school work, and everyone who read it said they were good reads, and I had a good style. I even got a credit rating on my English writing exam! (I don’t know the equivalent to school systems in other countries, sorry!)

I’m trailing off here, and coming off as a show off, sorry about that! My point is, I think I should start reviewing again, when I’m not doing college work, or working on my indie game, or playing a video game…

I guess my “PS2’s final moments” reviews are something to go by, only I would know what I’m on about since I’d be review games that of genres I’m into and know something about. Not saying I hate football, but I’m just not mad about it…

If I decided to go forward with the idea, I’d start off with written reviews, since I’m still scared of my voice… I might eventually move on to video reviews, though…

So what do youse think?
