Harvester [DOS] – DOSBox Video Capture Test

Saturday, January 25th, 2014

I just found out that DOSBox had a video capture feature! So I decided to try it out on a game I recently got, Harvester!

I guess this is a good opportunity to talk about Harvester, isn’t it? I recently got the game from eBay, I’ve been searching for it for years, and finally a copy popped up! It wasn’t in the big box, but at that point, I’d take anything!

I think the game is great, aside from the bad graphics (even for it’s time), and a not-so-great combat system (You just hold the right mouse button the whole time…), I can’t find any major flaw with the game, it kept me playing for hours, just so I could find out just what was going on with Harvest, the town where the game is set. If you’re thinking of picking this up, pick it up, you won’t be disappointed!

I mainly got the game for it’s gore, and I got what I paid for! This game is really disturbing, but that was what drew me to this game, It’s strange, because I would never do anything of the sort in real life, just the idea of it disgusts me, but I love gory video games! Especially early to mid 90s adventures!

I’ve actually beaten this game, but after hearing that DOSBox had a record feature, I wanted to test it, and Harvester was the nearest game!

So anyway, you probably spent more time reading this, than you will watching the actual video, since it’s only 30 seconds, so I’ll just let you get to it…
